Jonathan Rajewski (b. 1986, Bismarck, ND) received his BA in Philosophy from Michigan State University in 2009, and currently works in multiple artistic disciplines across Michigan. He runs artist-space Klinger Studios in Hamtramck, facilitates a weekly visual art and writing workshop at a correctional facility outside of Detroit since 2013, and was a 2015 Kresge Fellow in Visual Art. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Jack Hanley Gallery (NYC), the College for Creative Studies (Detroit), and the N’Namdi Center for Contemporary Art (Detroit). This past April, his paintings and wind chimes were shown with Reyes Projects at the Dallas Art Fair. Taking on a variety of forms and materials, Rajewski’s paintings and sculptures often transform found or discarded objects both familiar and nostalgic, creating energetic works that also carry emotional weight. Rajewski is based in Hamtramck, MI.
