Judith Hudson (b. Glen Ridge, New Jersey) received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Colorado and went on to study at California College of Art, University of California at Berkeley, where she received her Master of Fine Arts. Her work has been included in solo and group exhibitions in New York City at MoMA PS1, The New Museum, The Bruce High Quality Foundation, Phillips de Pury & Co., Marlborough Gallery, The Drawing Center, Zürcher Studio, and Salomon Contemporary, as well as locally at Ille Arts in Amagansett, The Fireplace Project in East Hampton, and the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill. In 2018 Hudson was included in The Artist Curated Collection: Toward Abstraction, curated by Bryan Hunt at the Guild Hall in East Hampton. Additional recent group exhibitions include James hd Brown: Life and Work in Mexico, curated by James Brown at USC Fisher Museum of Art in Los Angeles, CA and About Face, curated by Scott Avett and David Kratz at Southampton Arts Center and presented by New York Academy of Art, both in 2017. In 1982, Hudson was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts and her work has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times, ARTNews, Art + Auction, and Art in America. Her work can be found internationally in private art collections and in the public collections of Goldman Sachs, New York Public Library, Prudential Insurance Company of America, Phillip Morris, and IBM. Hudson has exhibited with Tripoli Gallery since 2012 and was included in the gallery’s 12th Annual Thanksgiving Collective: Year-Round in 2016. Under the Covers marks her third solo show at Tripoli Gallery following Fur and Flesh in 2016 and A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2014. Hudson currently lives and works in Manhattan and Amagansett, New York.
