Liz Markus (b. 1967, Buffalo, NY) received her MFA in 1997 from Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, PA and a BFA in 1989 from the School of Visual Arts, NY, New York. Markus’s works have been featured in seven solo shows in New York galleries as well as a solo exhibition at Galleri Loyal, Stockholm and Maruani Mercier, Brussels. Group exhibitions include “Go Figure!” curated by Beth DeWoody at Eric Firestone Gallery, East Hampton, NY, “Domestic Seen” curated by Bruce Hartman at the Nerman Museum, Kansas City, “Man Alive” curated by Wendy White at Jablonka Maruani Mercier Gallery in Brussels, “Deep Cuts” curated by Wendy White and David Humphrey at Anna Kustera, New York, “Bad for You”, curated by Beth DeWoody at Shizaru Gallery, London; and “New York’s Finest” at Canada Gallery, New York. Her work has been included in various international art fairs: NADA, Zoo, The Dallas Art Fair, and MACO. Markus lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
