After five years as a freelance curator in The Hamptons and New York City, having created an impressive clientele list as well attracting attention from some renown New York artists and curators, this summer Tripoli Patterson will be opening a gallery on Jobs Lane in Southampton.
The first exhibition at Tripoli Gallery of Contemporary Art will be featuring Felix Bonilla Gerena. After his successful show last July, also curated by Mr. Patterson, at the Collette Barn Gallery in Bridgehampton, the artist’s highly anticipated return will feature his most recent body of work,
The show, entitled “The Mysterious Bajura” will feature 18 new works on canvas reflecting the artist’s life on Jobos Beach in Isabela, Puerto Rico. Known by the locals as La Bajura, it is a place filled with beauty and struggle, opportunities and entrapment. A place that can fulfill the wildest imagination, yet, at the same time, can be an inescapable end destination. There, Bonilla finds love and excitement through his painting.
The Mysterious Bajura will open with a reception from 5pm - 8pm on Saturday, July 11th at Tripoli Gallery of Contemporary Art located at 30A Jobs Lane, Southampton, NY, directly across from The Parish Art Museum, and will be on exhibit through July 28th. Refreshments will be served and the artist will be in town so make sure to stop by.
